Friday Cute AND Pretty

No looking back

This little boy, the same one who won't go onto a full playground by himself, has no fear sometimes. He'll run off at restaurants (or the library!) without the least glance back. He's off and flirting with someone before you know it.
Good thing we're always close by, whether he knows it or not. But it's funny to watch (okay, except for the library thing).

You say it's your birthday?

Knowing that this was our last chance to do it this way, we gathered some of our (and E's) friends to celebrate his birthday. At a Belgian bar. Yes, this plot was hatched a week earlier at a different restaurant happy hour. What?

Anyway, he had fun.

The hot wheels and Cookie Monster presents made things interesting. Throw in some massive chocolate brownie and the party starts getting out of hand.

Thaw

Last weekend brought Chinook winds and a thaw from two weeks of near-zero temperatures, snow, and ice. I know, all of you got it, wherever you were. It has been a hard winter. Thus, we had to take advantage. Ray and E redecorated the garage (Ray cleaned, E added some chalk drawings), shoveled, and made snowmen, and the next day E and I checked out the state of our street.


E discovered puddle jumping (and I discovered that those boots are not really waterproof). Good timing- by the end of the day our end of the street was almost dry. We also managed to harass the geese at the lake and check out the Erie park, which is pretty fun. A good weekend all around.

I hope you all are getting some much-deserved warm weather, and that you get to enjoy it!

p.s.- in case you didn't notice, this is also a metaphorical thaw. I found a little time to download my pics and whatnot, and there will actually be regular posts again!

Happy Valentine's Day

When I dropped E off at daycare on Friday, there was a sign requesting that we bring 18 signed Valentines on Monday.

They didn't specify - signed by whom?

Anyway, E and I did some stamping after dinner, and then I cut them out and signed them after he went to bed. And so it begins. But they did come out pretty darn cute if I say so myself.

Thus, this is our wish for a Happy Valentine's Day for you!
