Conquering Warrior

I have conquered the mighty tree, and now I will carry it home. It is my prize.

(Yes, Ray succeeded in overcoming the Baumgartner procrastination and we have our tree up and decorated - done before December. Amazing.)

Thanksgiving 2009

Eamon had a lot of fun at my parents' for Thanksgiving. He found out about stairs in the safest way possible - in a house with, well, one stair. (Ray continues to find our insistence on using the terms "upstairs" and "downstairs" very odd.)
He got to watch little balls spin around, always a favorite pasttime.
And maybe he was giving Ray tips...
Of course, there was food. So very much food, and so very good.

Ten Months

Eamon turns 10 months old today. Changes are coming fast and furious, but not fast enough for him. He was mad at daycare today, and they solved it by taking him in the room with the toddlers. Instant happy- he loves the big kids. He wants to walk, and is starting to cruise, even though he can't figure out how to get to sitting on his own. He is figuring out how to pull up to standing from his stomach, so any day now - we, the cats, and all breakables are being put on notice!

Vitals-
height: 28 1/2"
weight almost 18 lb (finally had the 9 mo doctor's appt. last week)

Teeth- six: four up top, two on bottom. Fang is rethinking its existance.

Eats- Well, he'll sample whatever we give him... no idea how much makes it in!

 Yum, greek yogurt!

Edited to Add: I missed a few things. A few that are important, as they make the whole "increasingly mobile" thing a lot easier to handle. Eamon responds to his name.. and basic commands ("come here" is handy)... and knows "no", although you can't always prove that by him. Also, on an unrelated note... he has started to understand books - he has just gone from looking on the backside of the pages for the other side of the illustration, to actually being able to point out items in the illustrations.

Happy Thanksgiving

As we all prepare to sit down for Thanksgiving, Eamon would like to remind you that it pays to be picky about what you eat.

Or... not.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Bunnies?

I mentioned that something wasn't quite right about this farm. Beyond the sheep and cow with afros.

This seems like early education.
Even Eamon is concerned.

Blowfish

Sometimes...
I don't think...
our child...
is the normal one.
(Lessinger twin for comparison)

(It may explain a lot that any time either of this child's parents look at these pictures, we start laughing until we can't breathe...)

Go Vikes

This picture makes me think of Brad, Ray's brother-in-law. It fits the punchline for his favorite joke. Which is wrong. So I'm going to stop thinking about that and go listen to my husband yell at Brett Favre.

Quiet

Oh.

Hi.

You're still here?

You people are patient. Have we told you that we like that about you?

Sorry for the silence. It's been a week. Such a week that we went to see the Lessingers, and I haven't even mentioned the awesome pictures that Jen took. That's saying a lot.

The good news from this week is that I can stop stressing about when our doctor is going to have the flu vaccine available. Because none of us probably need it.

Sadly, the schedule is going to be crazy around here for another week or so. Trying not to look like a chicken with my head cut off... maybe aiming for just the crazy fro-haired sheep from Eamon's farm. I will try to get something up a little more regularly this week. Maybe I'll discuss some of the other things about that farm that are a bit odd...

In the meantime, if you're jonesing for the cuteness, go click that link up there....

Boulder

It's hard to get great pics of Boulder's flatirons (particularly with a cameraphone, on a bus!). They're so gorgeous some days, and the pictures just don't match up. But winter is coming (yeah, whatever, 22 inches of snow last week, it's been 60+ since), and there have been some pretty days. I thought I would share.

May all of your chilly days be beautiful ones!

Hand, Hand, Fingers, Moose

Many more evenings
Many more nights
Many more Dads
Many more Eamons
Dum ditty dum ditty
dum dum dum.
(Note the way Eamon's feet curl up in concentration.)
How's that for a peaceful end to the week? Hope everyone has a good weekend!

EAMONator

Ray had to fly out last Saturday, but we did get to take the Eamonator out Trick-or-Treating. No snowsuit required in the 60-degree weather...
Isaac and Alli were the lucky recipients...

Anatomy of a Photo Post

My father regularly makes cracks about Eamon's exposure to camera flashes. The trip to Estes with Clarks (and the presence of more adults and more cameras) gave me a rare chance to see this from a few feet further back. So... if you wonder what goes into keeping you amused with cute baby photos, here's Nick doing Eamon's usual job....

...and the awesome result.
(I'm eyeballing Brian's camera... too bad the skill probably isn't included.)
Wouldn't you like to come visit and get your picture with mountain scenery like that? (Okay, Steamboat Baumgartners, shush.)

New Toys from Crazy Uncle Steve

Hmmm... tastes good.
Rides well.
Yup, this is the AT-AT for me!
Grandma, you're going to have to wait your turn - or ask Crazy Uncle Steve for your own AT-AT.

THANKS, Uncle Steve!!!

Steve: It's only appropriate - you caption this one....

Got teeth?

I do!

Oh yes, I do!
(Four in - the front four. Two more on top coming any day. Fang is still nowhere to be seen. However, Eamon also keeps talking about monkeys following him. Wonder what's up with that?)
