Halloween 2011

We had time for a fashion show this year...
Sulky, not sure about this...
Then I let him have some of our candy while we waited for the neighborhood horde to be ready.

C'mon, guys, hurry up, candy awaits!
One hour of door knocking and one "Yes, you can have one sucker" later....
ROAR

Note: I obviously liked Ray's mom's Eamonator  costume, because while she had bigger things to work on the last couple of months, I found something similar. Even more amusing, because the two year old across the street was ALSO a dinosaur... and when he came out they just started roaring at each other. Awesome.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Ray says "Send coverage!"

Ray would appreciate more coverage.

Both in terms of better TV coverage (stupid blackout rules) and, frankly, he needs more "D". He's spending a lot of time getting tackled today.

In other news: 450th post! Crazy.

Rock Creek Farm

This year Ray vetoed the hour drive up to the CSA for pumpkin picking and we stuck closer to home. It was still awesome, and E still sort of thinks pumpkins are balls. Mostly this year he wants to stack them, since every day he sees an inflatable yard decoration that is a stack of pumpkins.

Regardless, E was very into pumpkin selection and removal.

Ray was as well. This turned into a multi-field mission with bonus hike.

Bonus: lots more pictures as well.

Books

Since this is secretly E's baby book in a lot of ways, I feel like I need to add another category: books. E always has a book or two that he is crushing on (aka making us read ad nauseum) and I want to get this down somewhere. You can freely ignore these posts....

Old favorites in heavy rotation right now: Go Dogs Go! (he reads half of it to me from memory now), What's Wrong Little Pookie? (he finally does the "no!"s), Good Night Gorilla (two weeks ago he noticed the balloon I'd never seen, then found it on every page).

New friends: Llama (Llama Llama Mad at Mama and Red Pajama - he can already do the repetitives in the"green one", Mad at Mama), and The Cat in the Hat (or "Goin' on an Adventure", as he calls it, as in "I want the cat to come and take me on an adventure. I want him to bring his car." Dude, if he shows up, he'd better bring that car.)

Just fell out of favor: Pat the Bunny (thank heavens, so tired of Paul and Judy right now)

A Vegas Wedding.. in Three Parts: Part 3: Dinner and Going Home

After the gorgeous wedding and a recovery nap, we were ready for dinner. We were also late for dinner, but apparently we hung out in the monorail station long enough for a fashion shoot. Which explains why we were really late for dinner..

We did eventually make it to dinner... click on through for more...

We interrupt the wedding..

... because E would like to remind everyone that, in every life, a little snow will fall. You should eat some of it.

In other words- first snow of the year! Yay! (says E)

A Las Vegas Wedding... in Three Parts: Part 2: The Wedding

As I mentioned, we got to go to Vegas to see Ray's brother Steve get married.

After our tour on the Strip came the rehearsal dinner, but I have no pictures because E was strangely exhausted and twerplike. Huh.

Anyway, the next day we cleaned ourselves up (after a quick dip in the pool for E's sake) to watch the nuptials.
As clean as we get!

Actual wedding pictures if you click through to the full post....

A Vegas Wedding... in Three Parts. Part 1: The Strip.

I know I still have a lot of travels to get up on this site, but the Grunzinger family could use the smiles this week, so they win.

Ray's brother Steve got married in Vegas last month, which made for a great excuse for our first trip out there as well. So... I'll get to the wedding, but I have to start where we started... the Strip!

We stayed in the Las Vegas Hilton, which was on the monorail, so we took the train to the other end of the Strip and started with the MGM Grand (aka the MGM insanely huge).
E was suitably impressed by New York New York.

So many pictures I had to break this up.. click for more!

We're going to look at pretty pictures tonight.

(Okay, some comment, but not on Sunday Night Football. E already knows that Mom is no good for football, mainly because I can't resist hugging when I tackle. Dad, on the other hand, is quite desireable.)

Ray's Genius

Continuing the "sending you to other blogs" trend... I sent Ray's fix in to Parenthacks and he made the big time on Monday. Check him out at Parenthacks.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

I know, I'm still slow. Believe it or not, I took on a side job, because hey, I didn't have enough to do. But speaking of people who have too much to do and still get it all done better than me... Jen is reworking her blog, but she just got a shot of our last photo session up.. check out the pic of E on Jen's Blog.

Happiness in Purpletown

WHOO-DOO!

Thanks, Vikings. The boys were getting sad. Now, good luck to the donkeys, who have totally disappointed my parents and look like they're going to do so again.
