State Fair 09-Traditions

Ray and his family have been going to the fair for a long time, so there are some traditional photos and things to do (ew, pronto pup). The big one has to be the tire, but there were a few we tried to replicate from our trip in 2005.

Sadly, this year they chained off the really big tractor. So Ray made do (although, in retrospect, he actually got the same size again). 2009:

And we just didn't make it to the Oink Booth this year. This may be a quest for next time. 2005:

E takes over at the Fair

Hi all! Mom is still a little overwhelmed by the pile of pictures from the Minnesota State Fair, so I'm going to give you my tour of a few.

This was my first parade. Dad seemed especially amused by the walking food. It just made me drool.

There were a LOT of people. Glad I didn't have to walk through this! A few seconds after Mom took this picture, Dad ran into one of his friends from Mesaba. What are the odds?

Mom declared this the "crime against nature" for the fair. And said I couldn't have any. But, I like fruit! At least Dad gave me some nectarine. And offered me a pronto pup - not sure about that, dogs lick my face a lot.

Nothing on a stick? But then how do you walk around with it?

This is Minnesota, so there were fish. Grandpa pointed out the big ones. I think some of them were bigger than me!

Dad wouldn't let me ride the moose, but here's a group shot.
Phew! I'm tired out now, just thinking about all of that walking! I'll let Mom take the next batch. I need a nap!

GGma

We headed up to Minnesota last weekend to hit the State Fair and see the family and some friends. I have too many wonderful State Fair pics to clean up. So, until I get a moment for that task, I offer a wonderful subset, neither fried nor on a stick.

Eamon met his great-grandmother Laura last weekend.

Yeah, they had fun.
